The Nejjarine Museum in Fes is a stunning showcase of Moroccan craftwork, from doors to musical instruments, religious items and everyday household objects. There is a large metal balance in the courtyard, an original scale from the days when the building was used for trade and measuring. Vendors and tradespeople would arrive from across North Africa to facilities such as this to make connections. The Nejjarine Museum is located in a Moroccan funduq, a traditional type of Moroccan building that combined trading facilities with accommodation for weary travellers.
