Meet Azdean Elmoustaquim: Your Native Guide to the Real Morocco!
Marhaba! I’m Azdean Elmoustaquim. My story begins in the heart of Morocco, the vibrant Imperial city of Marrakech where I was born and raised. My family roots trace back to the small Berber village of Telouet, nestled in the High Atlas mountains near Ouarzazate – a place of deep tradition and connection to the land that I often visited during childhood summers. Though life led me to the United States in 1995, settling in Houston, Texas, my homeland never left my heart. After years in the hospitality industry, the call to share the authentic beauty, rich culture, and unparalleled warmth of Morocco became too strong to ignore. This wasn’t about showcasing tourist traps; it was about revealing the real Morocco, the one I knew and loved.

Words From Our Community
The trip was wonderful
Our driver and local guides were excellent. Having a plan and private driver made everything very easy and flexible. We didn’t have to worry about anything it just happened smoothly and in a timely fashion. We were able to ask questions and learn so much, it felt like a very local experience. We deeply appreciated being able to move around quietly at our own pace absorbing all the amazing aspects of the Moroccan culture and sights.

Amy and I aren’t backpackers anymore! We needed comfort and a pace that was enjoyable, we didn’t want to be in a different city every night, Azdean understoot that when building our itinerary. Our whole 15-day itinerary was perfectly timed, and the private luxury transport made the long drives enjoyable. Staying in beautiful, quiet Riads was a treat, not a hotel chain experience. Destinations Morocco made sure our trip to Merzouga Desert was comfortable, the Nomad experience and Gnawa music in addition to lunch with a Berber family was the highlight of our trip. Thank you to all our local guides; Khalil in Casablabca , Ali in Rabat, Hamid in Chafchaoun, Youssef in Marrakech, and Amine for being such a safe and knowlodgable driver!

First-Timer
The sheer volume of information online about Morocco was paralyzing. We didn’t know where to start! The podcast gave us the structure we needed, and booking with Destinations Morocco took it from ‘idea’ to ‘reality.’ Azdean and his team in Morocco didn’t just book a place; they secured a stunning Riads throughout Morocco, and the one we in Marrakech felt like the heart of a secret garden. We never once had to think about getting from point A to B—our driver, parking or any logistics Ahmed, was always there early in a spotless vehicle. Zero planning stress, 100% immersion.

As a history enthusiast, this tour was a dream come true!
Destination Morocco’s expertise in Moroccan history was evident in the carefully curated itinerary. My partner and I gained a deep understanding of the country’s fascinating past, and our certified national private guide brought the historical sites to life from Fes, Meknes, Volibils, Chefchaoue, to Marrakech. This trip exceeded our expectations!

This trip was a life-changing experience for our family!
Destination Morocco took us off the beaten path and showed us the real Morocco. Our teenagers were captivated by the desert landscapes, the camel trek, the two days we spent in Merzouga were incredible, we spent time with the nomads, visited the Khamlia village for some soulful Gnawa music, then the kids loved the sand dune adventure. We learned so much about Amazigh people, their culture, traditions, and we created memories that will last a lifetime.
